In case you haven’t heard (and not many have) October 23 is National Mole Day, when people from all walks of life come together to celebrate Avogadro’s Number (6.02 x 1023). Get it? 10/23? 1023? Anyway, there’s no better way to celebrate than with a Mole-ympic Games Triathlon in which students break into teams to define, measure, and identify a mole of material through three separate events.
This high-school activity has loads of great suggestions to get the entire class – and even the entire school – in on the fun to determine the gold, silver, and bronze medalists. Happy Mole Day!
