Why This Matters
Safety is a shared responsibility in a science classroom. During an emergency, knowing the locations of exits
and safety equipment can help you respond quickly, follow instructions, and help keep the classroom safe
for everyone.
Your Task
Create a clear, detailed safety map of your science classroom or lab. Your map should help someone who has
never been in the room locate all available safety equipment and exits.
Map Requirements
Include each item your teacher identifies from the checklist
Show important room landmarks, such as doors, lab tables, sinks, and the teacher station
Label items directly or use symbols explained in a legend
Make the map neat, accurate, and easy to read
Use arrows, symbols, and color only as directed by your teacher
