Procedure: Step 1: At your lab stations you will have the set-up for this activity which includes: 2 meter sticks taped to make a track for the marble, a marble, and a stopwatch. Using the set-up you will time how long it takes the marble to travel one meter. Step 2: Gently push the marble at one end of the meter track. Time how long it takes for the marble to travel the distance of one meter. Make sure to start the timer when the marble starts rolling. Make sure to stop the timer when the marble reaches the end of the track. Record your data below. Repeat for 5 trials. How fast did your marble travel one meter? How do you know? What is speed?
