Keeping it clean: a lesson plan on aseptic technique
Middle School/High School
Without proper aseptic technique, pathogens spread faster than juicy gossip. And at school that’s pretty darn fast.
In this activity your students will develop their skills with aseptic technique—without needing to use real bacteria (they can use simulated media made with gelatin). Will they keep their materials clean and contamination-free? Or will it all end up looking like a college dorm room? Only time will tell.
