CTE Healthcare Escape Room Activity (continued)
Station 6: Body of Clues
Using a human anatomy torso model, students receive symptom clue cards and must
determine which organ is implicated. The correct organ contains a hidden alphanu-
meric code to unlock the next clue.
Station 6: "Body of Clues"
Tools Used:
• Human anatomy torso model (with removable organs)
• Pre-written symptom clue cards
• Some organs have code labels hidden inside or behind them
Learning Focus:
• Identifying major human organs
• Understanding organ function based on location and symptoms
• Using anatomical reasoning to locate clues
• Hands-on, spatial learning
Scenario:
"The Patient's Clue is Buried Deep…"
• A trauma patient arrived with vague symptoms and no clear medical history. The only hope of solving the case lies in a series
of hidden symptom cards and clues left inside a virtual "autopsy" model.
• You'll need to identify which organ is most likely involved and retrieve the hidden code from the torso model to advance.
Materials Needed:
• Anatomy torso with removable organs
• Clue cards with symptoms or case notes (e.g., "Jaundice and upper right quadrant pain")
• Small code tags or slips of paper placed behind or inside select organs
• Optional: magnifying glass, surgical gloves, or labels to add immersion
Student Instructions:
1. Read the patient's case summary or symptom card.
2. Discuss what organ might be affected based on the symptoms.
3. Use the anatomy model to examine the organs one at a time.
4. Look for a hidden code tag placed inside or behind one of the organs.
5. When you locate the tag associated with the correct organ, use that code to unlock your next clue.
