Add Inquiry: • Describe the two different kinds of efficiency measurements to students. Have them determine how that impacts trophic levels, and challenge students to determine what weighing measurements are needed to calculate the efficiencies in these caterpillar systems. Alternatively, students can potentially attempt to design their own system to study these efficiencies using different organisms. Disposal/Clean-up: – All materials can be disposed of in the regular trash. Do not release butterflies or caterpillars into the wild — transfer to an appropriate container and allow chrysalis to erupt into butterflies for maximum fun!
